Green Homes Grant

(announced 7th July)

Important update for October 2020: Extraglaze has given great consideration to the Green Homes Grant, and has declined to take part. Having investigated the grant in some detail the process of joining the scheme is far beyond our capacity, particularly during the busiest time in our calendar year. It looks like it would take several months of intensive effort to achieve, and much of it dependent on others, with processes and approvals outside our control timewise. This level of uncertainty means the time in which to complete work (before March 2021) may turn out to be impractical, possibly negative.

The Green Homes Grant voucher scheme was outlined by the Chancellor to fund and help bring work to UK businesses that have suffered because of earlier lock down measures. It will help home owners insulate their homes and improve their green credentials, in a very short period until the end of March 2021.

Stacking strip per metre

£2.99 each
Material
Colour-matched (laminated)
Width

Please order as follows:
- Steel, by the metre
- Stainless steel strips: specify a quantity
NOTE: The stainless steel version is essential for damp and wet rooms. This is supplied in lengths of 950mm. They will very neatly butt up together if you require a longer length.

Simply peel away the pink/red protective coating then apply the metal tape to the left and right sides of the panel you have chosen to stack onto. Click on the window image above to see an animation of how this works. The green highlights show the position of the strips.

Stacking Strip is a steel (or stainless steel) self adhesive tape which can be fixed to the front of an Extraglaze panel. This allows an adjacent panel of the same width to be safely 'stacked' on top, giving you unobstructed access to the window so that it can be opened. The panel can be kept there for the duration of the warmer months, so your window can be opened at any time without having to handle the panel regularly.

Note: you should not rely on one panel's magnets to also take the weight of a second (or "guest") panel. Where Stacking Strip is suggested then it is applied left and right on the "host" panel. On sash windows this should always be the the lower panel. The "guest" panel must be allowed to slide down to a resting position. As a consequence the weight of the "guest" should be taken by, for example, a window sill.
