Green Homes Grant

(announced 7th July)

Important update for October 2020: Extraglaze has given great consideration to the Green Homes Grant, and has declined to take part. Having investigated the grant in some detail the process of joining the scheme is far beyond our capacity, particularly during the busiest time in our calendar year. It looks like it would take several months of intensive effort to achieve, and much of it dependent on others, with processes and approvals outside our control timewise. This level of uncertainty means the time in which to complete work (before March 2021) may turn out to be impractical, possibly negative.


The Green Homes Grant voucher scheme was outlined by the Chancellor to fund and help bring work to UK businesses that have suffered because of earlier lock down measures. It will help home owners insulate their homes and improve their green credentials, in a very short period until the end of March 2021.

This is a summary of what is explained fully in our Terms & Conditions. Please refer to that document for full details.

 

Cancellation of Order

To cancel an unwanted item you can do so within 7 days of receipt of goods: this period may (or may not) be extended at our discretion. This does not apply to Made to Order goods (read more below). You shall have a refund for any cancelled items provided that the goods have been returned to us in the same condition as they arrived to yourself (see also Returns later). You should then receive your refund normally within 7 business days.

 

Where a cheque has been posted you may be able to contact us soon enough to prevent the cheque being presented for payment at the bank and we will discuss cancellation with you, however please note that in some cases it may not be reasonable to comply. Otherwise the order will be fulfilled.

 

When goods are damaged in transit then you shall contact us with details of the problem and we shall endeavour to agree the process of supplying replacements.

 

Returns

The goods to be returned must be unused, unopened (as reasonably applicable) and in suitable protective packaging, so that they may be sold again “as new”.

 

Goods which have been supplied sealed in their original packaging but which has been opened by you will only be accepted back at the supplier's discretion and a restocking fee of 15% applied in most accepted cases, but may vary depending on circumstances of the return.

 

Delivery charges are not refundable.

 

You must return the goods to us at your expense (unless the goods are faulty - see Faulty items below). We suggest that you use a recorded delivery method as we cannot be held responsible for any losses incurred in transit back to us. You are advised to insure the return delivery to the correct value. You shall be refunded the value of the accepted goods less any charges that apply which may include reasonable administration charges.

 

You should then receive your refund normally within 7 business days.

 

Made to Order goods and any customised/modified by the supplier at your request and are correctly supplied and which are not faulty may not be returned. No refund will be made. Such goods are not covered by the “Distance Selling Regulations”.

 

Payment of Refunds

Refunds will be made in the first instance via the same payment method you used to make your payment for the goods.

 

Faulty items

To return a faulty item, you must contact us first within 7 days of receipt of goods. It may be that a return is deemed unnecessary. You must contact us to agree the cost before returning any goods, and we will refund this cost.

 

Goods that have been damaged in transit may not be classed as faulty.

 

When Made to Order goods are found to be faulty then they will be replaced (a refund will not apply). Any other remedy you may request may be accepted but at our absolute discretion.

Extraglaze is both a supplier and installer of specialist secondary glazing services, with a rapidly expanding network of trained fitters. Our customers include home owners, offices, schools, even holiday resorts with single glazed windows. We frequently install our secondary glazing in listed buildings and conservation areas, as well as church conversions, often with arched and stone framed windows. Extraglaze will even turn double glazing into triple glazing, and stop condensation. If you live in a noisy city or town centre, especially with draughty, badly sealed sash windows, it will bring you the sound insulation you never imagined possible, even as you watch the traffic pass by! We insulate sash windows and insulate casement windows. All our panels are made to measure. We make special shapes, arches and out-of-square panels, even bowed (3 dimensional) panels for windows that follow curved facades. We supply and fit magnetic secondary glazing for sash windows and casement windows, and of course stained glass windows. If you require energy saving windows then insulating sash windows is a great alternative to window replacement or window renovation. The low cost of secondary double glazing is affordable compared to replacement sash windows & replacement casement windows. Extraglaze offers window thermal insulation and sound insulation for existing windows including stained glass windows. Both double glazed sash windows and triple glazed sash windows are possible. Extraglaze can turn draughty old windows into energy efficient windows.

Currently new orders will be dispatched within 2 - 3 weeks. Next winter this wait will lengthen dramatically, with unprecedented order levels.

URGENCY is not to be understated:
Please do not wait till next winter to place your order for secondary glazing:
- we expect our prices will be forced much higher before then
- we easily anticipate extremely high activity, so you will join a long queue
- your insulation may simply come too late to counter the new costs of heating your home.
Please therefore order your secondary glazing ahead of time.

Want to have Extraglaze installed by one of our fitters? Even more reason to start the process urgently. We will try to survey your windows from photos and your approximate dimensions, or a video conversation, then arrive at an informed price before discussing a potential site visit.

Price increases, & delivery costs for large items
Material prices rose several times in 2021, and are set to do so again in 2022: each rise has affected our panel pricing. Furthermore there has been a dramatic change in the cost to send large items. We continue to substantially subsidise our P&P charges, and we work incredibly hard to make sure every panel arrives safely to save everyone time & trouble.
